A new giveaway comic/ zine/ booklet made in honor of Free Comic Book Day (first Saturday in May)

themed around my community arts work with Street Lab on that day & Spring/Summer 2023. 

 

While not officially sponsored by FCBD, I like to spread the word and partake in related festivities.

 

Street Lab's public pop-up activations include DRAW and One Big Table community space with radio interviews by WNYC. Several upcoming pop-ups were listed on Events 2023, then Events 2024  and ongoing... into the new season with Events 2025, including first Tuesdays at Washington Sq Park.

I make, print, and provide these booklets for fun and for free, but greatly appreciate your support, 

especially as I prototype new designs and prepare for Free Comic Book Day 2024/2025!

Update: Had a design drafted from 2024 ready to retrace cleanly for 2025, but couldn't prepare in advance while unfunded. Then the Queens map (workshop also on Sat, May 3rd) became priority. However, I did scan and photocopy the rough version, that allows me to share a different view into the creative process.  Download 2024/5 pdf

Next initiatives: Could still revisit prototypes from this and prior years, make more mini-comics based on these ideas, and create workshops/experiences around encouraging people to make their own!
